The Kahilu Theater and director Jane Sibbett will present “The Vagina Monologues” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Kahilu Theater in Waimea.

This cast, part of the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls, includes Sen. Malama Solomon and councilwoman Valerie Poindexter.

According to One Billion Rising, one in three women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. The Kahilu Theater will join activists, writers, thinkers, celebrities, and women and men across the world as it presents the award-winning “The Vagina Monologues.”

All proceeds from this performance will go to aid women and girls affected by violence. Ninety percent will stay on island, supporting shelters and resources to educate and aid.
